Famous Teriyaki Salmon
Teriyaki Salmon is such a great way to jazz up a fresh piece of wild caught salmon. You can get the traditional flavors of teriyaki sauce but without the high inflammation ingredients like soy and sugar.
I love to garnish this with the Nori Komi Furikake, multi-purpose seasoning that can be found at Trader Joes. It gives it a more complex authentic Japanese flavor but if you aren’t a fan of nori then you can skip this step entirely.
Who’s ready for a dinner that only takes minutes to prepare but makes it seem like you have spent hours in the kitchen? I think we all have our hands raised for that question. This recipe for our Famous Teriyaki Salmon has the Lectin Free Wife’s seal of approval because it is simple and easy! After making this delightful salmon dish you will feel good about feeding your family a restaurant quality meal in minutes.
One of the thing I love about my Famous Teriyaki Salmon recipe is you can make as many pieces of salmon as you like. Cooking time doesn’t change if you make one salmon filet or several. The sauce is great on everything, sometimes I use it as salad dressing.
Tips from Lectin Free Wife…
Most of the salmon filets are generally too big for one person so I divide them into smaller portions by cutting with clean kitchen scissors or a knife before cooking. Dr. Gundry recommends using a deck of cards as a visual reference to know how big to make your portions.
Using Frozen Fish Guide…
Take the frozen salmon filets out of the freezer the night before and put in the fridge to thaw overnight. Filets should be ready to go by dinner time.
In a pinch for time? Fill the sink with cold water and thaw the fish in a zipper bag
PRO TIP: When thawing anything in the fridge (even if you think its in a sealed package) be sure to put it inside a container just incase there is any spillage or condensation when it thaws. If you don’t have a container, try using a zipper bag.
Cooking time notes:
I’m very particular on how I like my salmon. I find cooking for 8 minutes is the universal time for a perfect salmon-which is around medium rare. Outside will be cooked, inside will be moist and tender. However, (dramatic pause) if you are one of “those people” that like their salmon to be flaky and more on the drier side then you can cook this for 10-12 minutes.
