Let’s talk fruit…
If you follow Dr Gundry or any of his protocols, you know, we try to reduce sugar intake from all sources, even fruit. Dr Gundry even goes as far to say, “We should give fruit the boot and on the rare occasions when we do eat fruit, it should only be eaten in season.”
Fruit contain sugars known as fructose. Fructose is sugar. That’s the bottom line. For this reason, most fruits (except avocado, lemon, and limes) are not staples in our house.
Follow these three rules for picking fruit…
Choose fruits with lower sugar content like berries.
Choose fruits from the YES List, only when they are in season in your area. (Click here for the yes list)
Choose organic fruits. These fruits are grown in natural conditions, without pesticides or chemical additives.
